South America stands for peace

The 'I Stand for Peace' movement continues through South America. After visiting Guyana and Brazil, Gurudev conducted mega events in Bolivia and Chile. The Bolivian government issued a declaration of honor for Art of Living's work.

On his first visit to Guyana, Gurudev was received by the President H.E. Mohamed Irfan Ali, the Prime Minister Hon. Mark Phillips, and several cabinet ministers in the State House. Diplomats of various countries were also present.

Later in the evening, Gurudev addressed the gathering at the National Cultural Center during the “I Stand for Peace” event.

The “I Stand for Peace” tour continued to Brazil next with more than 2500 people at the event in Rio de Janeiro. The event was attended by government officials from India, Ambassador Suresh Reddy and other diplomats. Gurudev visited Brazil after a gap of six years and met with more than 500 teachers from across the region.

In the meet with President Jair M. Bolsonaro, Gurudev urged greater exchange between people of Brazil and India and discussed solutions to challenges posed by the pandemic.

Amidst hundreds of attendees at the ‘I Stand for Peace’ event in La Paz, Gurudev was welcomed by the Mayor Ivan Arias Duran, his wife and the Deputy of Bolivia, Ms. Milena Reque.

Gurudev was welcomed by the Mapuche community in the La Pintana Commune where he led the “I Stand for Peace” event followed by tree plantation with traditional ceremonies.
Visited the elders of the Mapuche Tribe. They gave a moving reception. Their culture is strikingly similar to the tribes of Arunachal Pradesh.
