Well, the good news is that the Guru of Peace, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will be in Kuala Lumpur on March 30, and in Penang on March 31, to give talks on living a stress-free and peaceful life.

Sri Sri, as he is reverently known, is a humanitarian leader, spiritual teacher and an ambassador of peace.

His vision of a stress-free, violent-free society, which he propagates through his Art of Living Foundation, established in 1981, which has an estimated 300 million followers.

It is an international, non-profit, educational and humanitarian organisation.

Sri Sri, 56, has won several international awards, was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize three times and described by Forbes magazine in 2009 as the fifth most powerful person in India.

As a spiritual leader, Sri Sri has rekindled the traditions of yoga and meditation and offered them in a form relevant to the 21st century.

Beyond reviving ancient wisdom, he has created new techniques for personal and social transformation.

These include the Sudarshan Kriya which has helped millions to find relief from stress and discover inner reservoirs of energy and peace in daily life.

In 29 years, his programmes have spread to 152 countries.

As an ambassador of peace, he plays a key role in conflict resolution and spreads his vision of non-violence in public forums and gatherings worldwide.

Regarded as a neutral figure with a sole agenda of peace, he represents hope to people in conflict.

He has received particular credit for bringing opposition parties to the negotiating table in places like Iraq, the Ivory Coast and Kashmir.

“We can make a difference. We should try it again and again even if we have to try it 100 times,” Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was quoted as saying during an interaction with the public and media in Pakistan.

Sri Sri emphasises on reinforcing human values, and recognising humanity as our highest identity.

He fosters interfaith harmony and calls for multi-cultural education as the remedy for fanaticism.

His work and message of “one-world family”, has touched the lives of millions of people around the world, going behind barriers of race, nationality and religion.

His talk in Kuala Lumpur will be on March 30 at 7.30pm at the Tun Razak Hall 1, Putra World Trade Centre. The next session will be on March 31 at 7.30pm at the Autocity Concept Hall, Juru, Prai, Penang.
